Who is responsible

What the enquiry form collects

If you use the DevMuse Signal contact form, it stores the details you enter: name, email address and your message, plus any optional organisation, phone number, existing URL and project-stage details you provide. It also records the topic you choose, the acknowledgement text and version shown to you, the time of submission, a public reference, the form source URL and any campaign tags in the link you followed.

Signal uses a keyed one-way hash of the connection address for short anti-abuse rate-limit windows. It does not store the plain address with your enquiry. Standard server logs may separately record technical request details for security and reliability.

Site preferences and analytics

The site stores your analytics choice in your browser’s local storage so it can remember the decision. This preference is essential to honour your choice. If you allow analytics, DevMuse creates a random identifier in session storage. It lasts for the current browser tab and is not used across sites.

Consent-only site stats record page paths, visit totals, time engaged, broad device and browser groups, the referring domain and campaign tags where present. They do not store the plain connection address, full browser string, full referring URL, names, email addresses or fingerprinting data. A keyed one-way hash of the connection address is kept for a short anti-abuse window. The public analytics record is kept for up to 180 days. Select “Privacy choices” on any page to change your decision.

Why the information is used

DevMuse uses enquiry information to read and respond to your request, decide whether and how we can help, prepare a scope or quotation where requested, manage any resulting work and maintain a clear record of the conversation.

The usual lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, or performing a resulting contract. DevMuse also has legitimate interests in operating a secure, reliable enquiry process, preventing abuse and keeping proportionate business records.

Who receives it

Enquiries are stored in a private DevMuse inbox and sent through the website’s email infrastructure so they can be answered. Hosting, email and technical service providers may process the information only as needed to operate those services. Information is not sold and is not added to a marketing list from this form.

How long it is kept

Signal is configured to remove enquiry records after 730 days. DevMuse may delete an enquiry sooner when it is no longer needed, or retain relevant records for longer where a resulting contract, legal obligation or dispute requires it. Rate-limit buckets are designed to expire after 15 minutes. Server and backup copies follow separate limited operational cycles.

Your choices and rights

You may have rights to ask for access to, correction of, deletion of or restriction on your personal information, and in some circumstances data portability. Where DevMuse relies on legitimate interests, you also have the right to object. Contact DevMuse first so we can help.
